More about Beverly
After fighting addiction and the woes of the street, Beverly is now sober and can be found spending time with her family, looking after neighborhood kids, and helping people locating their families.
Words cannot describe the positive force Beverly brings to the Tenderloin community. After noticing how the neighborhood kids were blankly gazing out their windows during COVID— often looking down upon drug use below— Beverly began to organize and provide “distractions” and hope for the children. As often as Beverly can, she now buys coloring books, word searches, and colored pencils then passes them out to the children. She’s hosted outdoor art sessions and often passes out hot dogs and PB&J sandwiches.
Beverly became involved in Miracle Messages three years ago and has helped connect over 30 families while also being an ambassador for Miracle Messages. She still gets teary-eyed overseeing the pure joy in people’s faces when they are reconnected with their families and loved ones.
Beverly’s Miracle Money Experience
Beverly is excited to be a part of Miracle Money and to save to be able to get her car up and running, purchase exercise equipment to help with her hip replacement recovery, and help her local neighborhood.
Beverly currently lives in her own apartment on social security. She does not have another source of income due to her health and has just enough to make ends meet yet still makes time and saves money to give back to the community and neighborhood kids.
She uses $75 of $500 monthly allotment to purchase groceries and art supplies and to feed neighborhood kids who are not eating, especially not operating normally.
Recently, Beverly cooked 40 hot dogs for neighborhood kids in the Tenderloin. All of the kids run to her and are happy to see her when she passes by. Her presence is a beacon of hope in a neighborhood filled with drugs.

Why Miracle Money?
Build relationships.
Our Miracle Friends program meets people where they are at, treats people not as problems to be solved but as people to be loved. We find that good communication and accountability follow.
Give funds.
We have raised over $45,000 through peer-to-peer fundraising to give 15 recipients $500/month for six months. Funds are used for housing, car repairs and transportation, bills, clothing, and more.
Repeat.
Seeing how Miracle Money changes lives, donors are encouraged to give and see the joy of knowing that every dollar donated goes to an unhoused neighbor in need. They follow updates along the way.
